Emma Fuss is an Australia artist who works predominantly in oil to create striking still lifes and portraiture.
From her studio set in native bushland on South Australia’s wild, remote Eyre Peninsula, Emma draws on her love of Australian botanicals and her flower garden, on her collection of vintage fabrics and the simplicity of household items, bringing together pattern and print with the gentle natural forms of the bush or the raw, chaotic beauty of family life.
Finding joy in nature, Emma’s work is strongly informed by her own garden; gardening and painting woven together into one process, one of planting, tending and nurturing to create a final, beautiful outcome.
Emma has a Bachelor of Visual Communication from the University of South Australia, and her work is informed by years as a practicing graphic designer and illustrator. She has been recognized in a number of local art awards and has an established and loyal following, both within South Australia and beyond.
